Mobile & Tablet Repair Engineer

Eden Repair Centre Ltd, established in 2017, provides high-quality device repair and refurbishment services to IT reseller and MSP customers across the UK. We support large-scale 1:1 device schemes, ongoing repair agreements, ad-hoc services, and insurance-backed repairs through our FCA-regulated operations.
Our continued growth - particularly across the education sector and in partnership with IT resellers - has led to a requirement for expanding our engineering team to meet increasing demand for reliable, warranty-backed repairs on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and similar technology.

Role Overview

As a Mobile & Tablet Repair Engineer at Eden, you will be a key member of our technical team, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing a wide range of mobile and tablet devices. You will work to defined SLAs, ensuring all repairs, testing, and service updates are completed accurately and on time. You will also be involved in secure data sanitisation procedures for mobile and tablet trade in projects, ensuring customer data is irretrievably erased prior to the re-marketing of their handsets.

The role is hands-on, fast-paced, and suited to someone who is technically motivated, detail-oriented, and confident working both independently and within a collaborative service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults on mobile and tablet devices using both manual and software-assisted methods.
  • Complete high-quality repairs to manufacturer or Eden standards, including screens, batteries, charging systems, and board-level components (where trained).
  • Log accurate repair notes, assessments, and updates within the ticketing system in line with SLAs.
  • Test, validate, and quality-check repaired and refurbished devices prior to dispatch.
  • Support the wider team with inventory checks, parts handling, and updating device records.
  • Assist with refurbishment and reuse workflows, including data sanitisation and grading.
  • Contribute to recycling processing tasks as part of our WEEE and zero-to-landfill commitments.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare devices or accessories when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service when communicating with clients, partners, and internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven interest or hands-on experience with mobile, tablet, or general IT hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach to diagnosis.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Good written communication skills for accurate ticket and report updates.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and continually improve repair efficiency and accuracy.

The Opportunity

  • A full time, permanent opportunity, working 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm
  • Office based role from our offices in Guiseley, in very close proximity to the Train Station
  • 20 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day per year of employment (up to a maximum 25 days).
